Teachers through their pre-primary teacher's training can build the child’s mind frame in a positive way when they show that they value students’ lives and identities in a variety of ways. At all ages students want to feel independent and as though they have a say in what they are learning and doing. It motivates them, gives them feelings of competence, and helps them buy into the program.

1. Get the whole classroom excited

• In order for effective change, you need to engage and involve students.
• Express the long-term benefits and advantage of how the lessons and development will impact them.
• The values that you inculcate inyour students deem to be the most important.

 

2. Engage the seniors & head teachers

• By having the extra support of the head-teacher the young learners will see that the project is valid.
• Engage them in an extra activity that will build their confidence.
• As a teacher trained in pre-primary teachers training, you get to identify pupils who display the leadership qualities.

 

3.  Communicate the values

• A right way to guide children will be to instil in them a constant reminder and reference to values.
• The vision you communicate while teaching young learners needs to be reiterated on a regular basis.
• As a teacher, hold yourself with self-esteem and treat each child with respect and concern. By doing this you hold the attention of the class and inspire them at the same time.

4. Inspire & Encourage 

• Praising the behaviour of the young learners always promotes success in the classroom.
• By focusing on the positive behavioural change validated by you as a teacher trained in pre-primary teachers training, you enable the class to continue with the positive classroom cultural initiative.

 

5. Set goals for the class and individuals   

• Goal setting for the young learners allows the long-term groundwork to take shape.
• Children, with constant guidance, will know what is expected and how this will be achieved.
• This allows for active involvement knowing the benefits you plan on seeing.
• Goals will give the students something to work on.

 

6. Share success stories

• Success stories and progress being spoken about give children the confidence to build their foundation.
• Make sure that all students know how your classroom functions.
• The success you have with your present class will filter through to other classrooms.
